Three works in oil pastels completed in the studio. Villard Reculas is a tiny hamlet that in winter feeds the ski slopes above Alpe d'Huez, and was painted from a photo. The robin was photographed when it perched in front of me, on a weir bridge by the mill at Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. The still life was an exercise in working with the limited palette shown on the painting.
